The principle of the oneness of humankind is the pivot around which all the teachings of Baha'u'llah revolve.

Baha'u'llah taught that humanity, after a long and turbulent adolescence, is at last reaching a stage of maturity in which unity in a global and just society can finally be established.   To this end, laws of personal status and behavior, as well as laws and principles for social integration and daily existence are prescribed in the Bahá’í Faith to establish the oneness of humanity. 

 

Basic Baha'i beliefs include:

    God is one, although He is referred to by different names

  •  

    Religion is one and that all of the world’s religions represent one changeless, progressive eternal Faith of God 

  •  

    All Divine Messengers of God are from the same Source, though referred to by different names, and have been sent to guide mankind according to the needs of the time

  •  

    Bahá’u’lláh is the Manifestation of God for this age

  •  

    All humanity was created by one God and is part of one human race, destined to live in peace and harmony 

  •  

    The purpose of life is to know and worship God, to acquire virtues, to promote the oneness of humankind and to carry forward an ever-advancing civilization 

  •  

    The soul, created at the moment of conception, is destined by God to continue to its existence in the afterlife

  •  

    Work performed in the spirit of service is a form of worship

 

Basic Bahá’í Principles and Teachings include:

    Religious truth is not absolute but progressive and must be the cause of love and unity.

    Independent investigation of truth

    Compulsory education for all

    The elimination of all forms of prejudice

  •  

    Equality of women and men 

  •  

    The harmony of science and religion as two complementary systems of knowledge that must work together to advance the well being and progress of humanity

    The establishment of a world commonwealth of nations

    Spiritual solutions to economic problems and the removal of economic barriers and restrictions

    The abolition of extremes of poverty and wealth

    The adoption of a world auxiliary language, and a uniform and universal system of currency and weights and measures

    Non-involvement in partisan politics

    Obedience to the laws and government of the country

  •  

    Strive to live a life dedicated to the service of humanity

    Strive to uphold high moral standards in all their actions
